Steaming Dim Sum Storm

64"x55"x25"

Wood, bamboo sticks, white string, mesh cloth, red dye, white yarn

An intuitive 3D sculpture made from materials traditionally used to construct dim sum steamers. Working without a predetermined plan, I allowed the form to emerge organically as I learned to embrace spontaneity and unpredictability. The resulting, twisted, turbulent forms that resemble storms that connect my two homes, Guangzhou and Vancouver, both known for their seemingly endless rain.
